LTL (Less Than Truckload) is a type of freight shipping where multiple shipments from different customers are consolidated onto one vehicle. After receiving the shipment order, the logistics provider picks up the cargo from the customer and delivers it to a warehouse. There, the cargo is consolidated and labeled. It is then dispatched alongside other shipments that are ready for transport.
Unlike FTL, in LTL shipping, only the space occupied by the cargo is 'rented,' rather than the entire vehicle. This significantly reduces transportation costs.
The cargo can be delivered to the specified address, not necessarily to a specific pickup point or warehouse. It is also possible to arrange delivery by courier.
The customer does not choose the vehicle, does not engage in loading and unloading operations, but only specifies the dimensions and type of cargo.
